There was a small surprise when fourth ranked IsraeliBnei Hertzeliya (1-4) edged second-ranked Turkish Tofas (2-3) in Hod Hasharon 82-81 on Tuesday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Bnei Hertzeliya made 8 blocks. The winners were led by American guard Daeshon Francis (193-1996, college: UTPB) who scored that evening 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Elijah Stewart (196-1995, college: USC) supported him with 19 points and 4 assists. Even 28 points and 8 rebounds by Yigitcan Saybir (203-1999) did not help to save the game for Tofas . Mexican-American point guard Alexander Perez-Kaufmann (191-1993) added 6 points and 11 assists for the guests. Despite that victory Bnei Hertzeliya went down to seventh position due to points difference, which they share with 6 other teams. It was Tofas ' third loss in a row.
